An avid cooking competition fan and a service industry vet of three years, you could confidently say I love food. Cursed with a lack of actual cooking abilities myself, I prefer to watch people cook and enjoy their food. So when the general manager of La Merenda shot me a text to photograph their newest menu, I was game.
Luckily, I know the kitchen and the menu pretty well so I made myself at home. I grabbed orders that were ready for service, quickly photographed them and sent them to their correct table. I also got some images of the chefs hard at work, despite their shyness.
Chef Peter Sandroni worked with namely his sous chef (who prefers to be unnamed and off the grid, which as a Parks & Rec fan, I can respect) and the rest of his team to create fresh, diverse worldly cuisine. I can honestly say that every single one of the photographed items are ordered multiple times each night and praised. It’s rare that a restaurant with such a wide scope can nail food from everywhere, but with collaboration and expertise, the La Merenda chefs knock it out of the park.
